Maintenance Schedule:
First, we designed the HuntMore 360º Chair to be as maintenance free and dead quite™ as possible. Just like all mechanical devices and your tree stands, your 360º should be visually inspected for damage or wear and tear every time it's used. General maintenance of Cleaning, tightening or loosening and lubricating should be done when ever needed.
Hub Bolt and Washers:
- Remove Bolt and disassemble parts.
- Wipe clean the washers and flats of hubs.
- Lightly lubricate with a white silicone grease.
- Reassemble all the parts.
- Sit, rotate and adjust hub bolt tightness to personal preference and resistance.
Legs Bolts and Cap Washers™:
- Remove Nut & Bolt.
- Remove leg from hub.
- Wipe clean the Cap Washer and flats of hubs.
- Lightly lubricate with a white silicone grease.
- Reassemble all the parts.
- Adjust hub bolt tightness so that the leg resistance keeps the leg out or up when pulled out.
U-Shackles & Bolts:
- Carefully remove nut and bolt! Keep track of all washer!
- Wipe clean the washers and flats of the hinge or front dog leg.
- Lightly lubricate with a white silicone grease.
- Reassemble all the parts, the extra of the hinges make this a little more difficult, extra pair of hand holding the upright is a benefit!
- Adjust hub bolt tightness so that the there is no play in the hinge, but there is minimum resistance in the U-Shackle.
Maintaining Dead Quite™ Performance:
U-Shackle Hinge Assembly:
90% of the time if your 360º is making any noise when you lean back or adjust your weight it's from the U-Shackle Hinge assembly. Loosen up the bolt and use a heavy oil, grease or scent free gun oil on the hinges and hinge stops areas. Remington Oil with teflon works great and is now applied before they are shipped. Some guys use a vegetable oil, but you have to keep reapplying it.
If the bolts on the hinges are too tight or too loose you can get noise. The U-Shackles need to be able to move up and down with out too much effort or resistance. Re-Lube and then play around with the bolt tension on the U-Shackles including the front one. Too tight, it's hard to move the uprights up and down, too loose there will be play in the hinges from side to side.
Hub Washers:
1- Check the tightness of the Main Bolt that holds the hubs together. You may have to play with this. To tight it will not rotate when you sit down, if it's too loose and then you lean back it will sometimes make a vibrational noise. The stool should not be freewheeling but have some resistance to rotation but not too much.
2 - Re-lube with a white silicon grease and then re-tighten the main bolt till correct.
Legs Bolts and Cap Washers™
1 - Check that the legs can swing, but have resistance, enough that when you pull them out or up they stay put!
2 - If they are making any noise, remove bolt and pull out the leg, lightly lubricate with a white silicon grease and then correctly retighten the bolt to the above specs.
Yearly you should do a clean and maintenance on all connecting parts. Wash and clean the lower legs of all dirt and grim build up with warm water.
Hope this helps, if not contact us again!
Happy comfortable, successful and quite hunting!
